Discovery Science Center is northern Colorado's only hands-on science and technology center, loaded with 120 incredible interactive exhibits to ignite your curiosity and make learning fun for the entire family.
In 1941, the Museum opened in Library Park as the Pioneer Museum. At that time, collections and displays focused on scientific specimens, rare historic items, and cultural curiosities. In 1976, the Museum moved to building, a 1904 Carnegie Library building and was renamed the Fort Collins Museum. Since then, the Museum has grown just as our community has grown. The Heritage Courtyard has expanded to include a wonderful plaza area and the Franz-Smith Cabin, the Museum now cares for over 35,000 objects that represent our City, and over 40,000 people visited the Museum in 2005 to enjoy the exhibits and programs.
The Museum of Contemporary Art is the only art museum in Fort Collins and offers a variety of programs that enrich the cultural environment of the city. We present 10-12 rotating art exhibitions in two 1800 square foot galleries featuring the work of local, regional, national, and international artists. Our ArtsCool program offers art classes for children, teens and adults taught by artists and art educators. Several local artists have studios in the MOCA building and open their studios for public observation throughout the day. The MOCA Studio Tour, presented each September, is a public tour of over 50 artists’ private art studios in the Fort Collins and Loveland area.
